[ comments (0) ] [ BallHype ] We break from the non-stop Bartolo Colon and Curt Schilling news for this brief announcement of hilarity: Jonathan Papelbon wouldn't do too well in the backstreets of Madrid. Or Mexico City for that matter. For the second year in a row, Papelbon actually requested to do one of his public service readings en Espanol to connect with the ever-growing Hispanic fan base. And, for the second year in a row, the budding superstar completely botched the operation, despite the best save attempts from Mike Lowell (last year) and the communications front office (this year). So, without further ado, we bring you Boston's closer extraordinaire, courtesy the Cape Cod Times (as if you couldn't tell that from the ridiculous 20-second intro to the clip). Here's hoping this doesn't start a minor international incident. Or that if it does, he finds a way to feed the proof of it to Boss, his pet bulldog. Seems like that worked pretty well for the whole World Series ball fiasco. |
