Julio Down by the Score Card

According to Fox Sports and the scoop-master known on this earth as Ken Rosenthal, Julio Lugo has gotten his deportation papers from Red Sox Nation. Somehow this feels like loosening your belt after a Thanksgiving meal. Sweet relief.

He really should have worn the number 9,250,000 on his jersey - considering those were really the only numbers he contributed to the team. That's ten Nick Greens and 11 Jed Lowrie's, by the way.

Everyone points to his speed as the one saving grace. But there are plenty of speed guys that get paid far less to do their thing in the league. Michael Bourn gets paid $434,500. That might be a less than fair comparisson, considering Bourn has only been in the league for three years, while Lugo has been in for 47. But Chone Figgins has the fifth most steals in the league and gets paid almost 3.5 million less than Lugo... and Chone can hit. 

Now that the Lugo era is over, it is only appropriate to give him a proper Boston send-off... Please, don't let the door hit you on your way out good sir.
